SEVENTH HEAVEN
BLOXWICH United AFC made the long midweek trip to Bromyard Town and came home with a convincing 7-0 victory.
The Red Lions made their intentions clear early on as Leon Taylor fired over before Alan Wilkes was denied by a smart save from the home ‘keeper.
The opening goal eventually arrived around the quarter-hour mark when Nick Smith volleyed home from 25 yards. It was 2-0 soon afterwards when Wilkes cut inside and made no mistake.
Bloxwich added a third goal before the interval when Smith weighed in with his second of the evening.
There was no let-up from Michael Moseley’s side after the break as Wilkes powerfully fired home the fourth.
John Freeman then got his name on the scoresheet with a well-worked goal before Ahmed Obeng made it 6-0.
There was still time for Smith to complete his hat-trick and complete the scoring to put The Red Lions into seventh heaven. “It was another solid team display,” said manager, Michael Moseley. “This is never an easy place to come to, as we found out last season, but the lads approached the game in the right way and we were able to build upon our recent form.
“It was a good and richly-deserved three points for us.”
